Nestled near the bay, Wallflower has grown into what it is today thanks to the people who bring it to life each day. Our small team is full of heart, each person adding their own skill and spirit to the studio.
From early mornings at the markets to late nights in the studio, everything we do is a collective effort — creating in the Wallflower style: natural, considered, and a little unexpected.
roots run deep
Wallflower began from Renae's love for flowers and a desire to show them in their natural beauty — wild, elegant, and unrefined. What started as a wedding side gig soon bloomed into something bigger.
"I was managing a café at the time, selling leftover flowers from events, and people couldn’t get enough. That little café sparked Wallflower’s beginnings, and when the shop next door opened, I took the leap.
Since then, we’ve grown from a one-person operation to a thriving team of seven, moving from our tiny first shop into a space three times the size.
My love for flowers runs deep—I grew up on a strawberry farm and 50-acre nursery, surrounded by plants and family who’ve always worked the land. Today, my sister and her husband run Wallflower Farm, growing the local blooms that make our arrangements unique."
It’s a family story at heart—rooted in nature, built with love, and always growing.
WALLFLOWER FARM
Wallflower Farm sits just beyond the city in the rolling green of Wamuran, where Renae’s sister and brother-in-law grow seasonal flowers for the studio and for florists across Brisbane. What begins in the soil here finds its way into markets and homes throughout the city.
The farm moves with the rhythm of the seasons — rows of flowers grown slowly, thoughtfully, and with a deep respect for the land. Many of the stems used in Wallflower’s work are cut just hours before they reach the studio, carrying with them the softness, scent and fleeting beauty that only locally grown flowers hold.
It’s a quiet but essential part of Wallflower’s story: flowers grown close to home, shared across Brisbane, and woven into arrangements that feel natural, abundant and deeply connected to place.
